Mad @ Me

You always smiled brightly,
When I talked to you,
Now that smile turned into a murdering scowl,
Like I’m staring into the eyes of the Hulk,
What are you mad at me for?
I did nothing wrong,
I just asked a simple question,
And you took it higher than intended,
Now you look as if you want to abduct me,
Put me on a plane,
Drop me off on a deserted island,
Then leave me there to rot,
And die a slowly, pain-stricken death,
So my corpse can wither away,
And leave a small pile of dust behind,
That’s what I see every time I stare into your dead eyes,
All because you took it farther than expected,
Because you overreacted to one simple question,
So go ahead,
Be mad at me,
But never forget,
All the good times we shared,
Are ruins, like the Sphinx,
Cuz of your growing grudge.
